The Amazespace,a walk-through fantasy vision situated at 47 Gillies Street, Kawakawa, opposite the Hundertwasser Toilet, was severely damaged by a land slip after exceptional rainfall in June 2014.
The original plan to build fifty individual landscaped environmental art displays on a hill facing over Hundertwasser’s last building was just starting to gain traction when the above major disaster struck.
Over the five years that I worked on it from 2009 it proved to be loved by tourist visitors and locals alike. Pictures show ‘Fantasy Garden’ and ‘Kiwi Wall’ adjacent to the entrance.
